Larks and Magic (The story of E Nesbit)
February 16 @ 7:45 pm - 9:00 pm£10.00
A one-hour one-woman show written and performed performed by Alison Neil. The story of E. Nesbit.
E Nesbit, the author of The Railway Children, is credited as the first modern writer for children. But Edith Nesbit’s life was more extraordinary than any of her stories. Charming, badly behaved, always up for a lark, she worked hard to keep her unconventional family afloat. Her domestic arrangements seem jaw-dropping, even today. As part of the Bohemian Set in London, she was a founder of the Fabian Society, the friend of many famous literary figures and more than a friend to some. Meet her in this entertaining account of her life, larks and enduring magic.
Tickets will be available from the Market Stores priced £10 each.
