Film and talk by Alan Vaughan. Meetings are open to everyone;  guests pay just £2.50. Peter Falconer, (1916-2003), was an architect with a notably varied practice ranging from designing breweries and distilleries to overseeing the remodelling of Highgrove House for the Prince of Wales.

Cotteswold Naturalists Field Club – Claverton Pumping Station

A talk by George Eycott on the Restoration of Claverton Pumping Station. The Claverton Pumping Station is a rare surviving example of the technology of the Late Georgian – Regency – period.  The pump started work in 1813. This amazing pump uses the power of the River Avon to lift water up 48ft into the Kennet and Avon Canal above. Burning no fuel and making no waste it is the ultimate in environmentally friendly technology.
